How It Works

We define strategy and ensure it becomes lived expression.

Most brand strategists stop at documents you’ll never revisit. Most marketing agencies skip definition.

1. define

The purpose of this phase is not only to define who you are as an organization, but also to establish tools and guardrails to stay true to that definition. It’s about taking a sigh of relief, knowing that strategy can be simple, and that you will never have to start from scratch again.

Here’s what you get:

  • Through a structured intake and working sessions, we bring forth what you believe, who you are for, and the boundaries that matter. This work draws from established strategy frameworks and is intentionally designed to simplify strategy.

The outcome is a clear strategic orientation you can return to when it’s time to make decisions. One that defines what you are committing to and what you are willing to leave behind. This becomes the reference point for everything else we do together.

    You’ll receive:

    ·       A written strategy reference report that will serve as a foundational document to prevent drifting. It can be used to orient new team members and collaborators, help you define approaches to new efforts, or make marketing and resource allocation decisions.

    What we need from you:

    • Commitment to meet for up to two 90-minute meetings, and to prepare ahead of time as needed. Examples include completing brief questionnaires or bringing reflections on questions sent ahead of time.

    • Readiness to make decisions and stick to them. We invite you to be honest with yourself. While we believe this work will help every organization, we don’t believe everyone is ready to do the work it takes to actually simplify strategy. If you’re not ready, our work will not be successful. We want to be proud of our outputs and ensure they help you move forward meaningfully. If it’s not the right time, we’ll be happy to reconnect in the future when it might be a better fit.

What we don’t need from you:

    • Artifacts and outputs from previous strategy discussions. This may seem counterintuitive, but this work will invite us to start fresh. Our methodology is designed to simplify, and that means bringing less to the table and trusting the process.

  • Clarity often erodes when new opportunities arise. The Decision Flowchart exists to prevent that drift. It turns your strategic commitments into a usable framework you can return to in real time.

    You’ll receive:

    ·       A strategic decision-making flowchart. This will serve as a tool you can return to during conversations with your business partners or team. By serving as a tangible reminder of what you decided, it can help settle internal disagreements, say no to ideas that don’t fit your strategy, and keep you true to who you are.

  • Once the strategy is defined, we pause to confront how your organization is read (without judgment). This means examining the signals you are currently putting out into the world.

This audit focuses on interpretation: what appears to matter based on what is most visible? Where has emphasis accumulated over time? What serves your new strategic orientation and what doesn’t?

The goal is to identify the distance between what has been defined and what is currently communicated, so that our redirection is intentional.

    You’ll receive:

    A Perception Audit, including:

    • Summary of how the brand currently reads

    • Identification of key gaps and misreads grounded in your newly defined strategy

    • Implications for what needs to shift before expression moves forward

    What I need from you:

    • Website, social media handles, lead magnets, last 3-6 months of newsletters— and anything else that you are actively putting into the world.

  • With strategy clarified and perception understood, we translate clarity into direction for expression. This is where your brand begins to take shape through a coherent visual and linguistic framework.

This step will establish expressive boundaries, creating just enough structure to ensure coherence.

    You’ll receive:

    A brand kit containing:

    • A visual moodboard: Defining the overall look, feel, and emotional register of the brand, used to guide future design decisions.

    • A distinct wordmark or font-based logo: Designed to feel aligned with your strategy and usable across contexts, not just in ideal conditions.

    • A core color palette: Including primary and supporting colors, with guidance on how they should be used together.

    • Typography direction: Clear rules for type usage, hierarchy, and tone, so written materials feel consistent and intentional.

    A voice kit containing:

    • Core narrative: This will be the summary of who you are as a business and will provide ready-to-go language for your key communications.

    • Voice guidance: Language to lean into and language to avoid, grounded in your strategy and audience, not trends.

    • Common language guardrails: Phrases, patterns, and framing principles that help build consistency and trust over time.

    What I need from you:

    • Feedback after the moodboard is completed to ensure you feel represented in the direction of the work. One round of edits is included.

  • The final step in this phase focuses on making the work usable. We translate brand direction into practical tools your team can apply day-to-day, without reopening foundational conversations every time something new arises.

As part of this, you’ll receive a custom GPT or Project companion. This will be a private, AI-based tool trained specifically on your brand identity. Think of it as a grounded reference point you can return to when producing content in your brand’s voice.

    You’ll receive:

    • A brand companion (custom GPT or AI Project) trained on your brand identity. It will keep you on message, preserving and reinforcing the voice that attracts the clients you have defined as key to your business.

AT THE END OF THIS PHASE YOU FEEL GROUNDED AND RELIEVED.
2. MAKE VISIBLE

The purpose of this phase is to translate strategy and brand direction into tangible expression that makes the organization legible to the right audience. Together, we decide what you need after a strategy and brand refresh.

Here’s what we work on:

  • A website is the landing place that your prospective clients visit to get a sense of who you are. After Defining, refurnishing that landing space is fundamental to translating who you are to your audience.

Full disclosure: we aim to make businesses as independent as possible. We work with easy-to-edit platforms that release you from having to pay developers for every edit you need to make. That said, if you already have a system that works, we can provide guidelines for your internal designers or developers to use instead. Let’s talk.

  • Whether email marketing templates or social media post templates, we will provide a set of designed, coherent, branded templates to support you and your team in releasing content that reflects who you are.

  • A structured guide for capturing content that reflects your refined positioning. This includes narrative themes, interview prompts, visual direction, shot guidance, and a clear plan for how assets will be used across platforms.

This offering is created for your team to execute independently. On-site or virtual creative direction may be available upon request.

  • A small set of finished content assets created from your content shoot, demonstrating how your refined positioning translates into public communication.

AT THE END OF THIS PHASE YOU FEEL ESTABLISHED.

Clients who complete Phase 1. Define and Phase 2. Make Visible may inquire about an ongoing engagement.

ONGOING STRATEGIC CONTENT PARTNERSHIP

For founders and businesses who want continued alignment between their evolving thinking and their public presence.

Through structured monthly sessions, we surface ideas, refine positioning in real time, and translate insight into clear, intentional communication. This partnership ensures that as your work evolves, your public voice evolves with it without moving away from the strategic foundation we established.

The structure and offerings will be tailored to your strategic goals. We believe nothing should exist to fill space and in this work, we will stick to that. If it doesn’t serve your goals, it shouldn’t take place.

Here’s what this phase may include:

  • Quarterly strategic content planning sessions, including:

    • Sequencing strategy around active priorities (e.g. product launch, sector targeting, etc.)

  • Monthly narrative shaping sessions, which will provide material for designed, written, or edited:

    • Ghostwritten or co-created posts

    • Newsletter drafting

    • Social media posts (primary channel defined during Phase 1)

THROUGHOUT THIS PARTNERSHIP, YOU FEEL FOCUSED AND STEADY.
